Send a rosary to a Public Rosary Captain

On Saturday the 10th of October, Australians will pray the Rosary out loud in public places across the country. $10 puts a rosary into the hands of somebody who stops to watch.

Every captain is a volunteer. Nobody is paid, and nobody asked to be. Each one picks a public place in his own town, turns up on the morning of the 10th of October, and prays the Rosary where anybody walking past can see and hear him.

Some of the people who stop will be Catholic. Many will not be. Most of them will have nothing in their hands.

A rosary given away in the street is very often kept. It goes home in a pocket and into a drawer, and years later it comes back out.

That is what your gift pays for.

What the captains ask for

• $10 puts a rosary in a stranger's hands. This is what they ask for ahead of everything else.
• $100 buys a banner, so people can see what is happening and stop. Only the first-year captains need one.
• $150 sends a complete kit to a new captain: banner, booklet, poster and rosaries together.

Many of our captains have led a public Rosary before and still have their banner from last year. They ask for very little. It is for the new captains and the rosaries that your gift goes.
